Amazing how much time has passed by, so to update my pet cat Goliath passed on. But we have a new 7 month old kitten who loves the dark and playing. He loves both wet and dry cat food and enjoys playing.

A Healthy Diet

Diet Do's and Don'ts..

Animals need proper nutrition same as people what they put into their body effects overall health so make sure to give them a proper diet low in fat.

There are many things to think about when researching pet food is it popular is it safe does it meet all daily requirements and will it help with whatever they need to live full active lives.

Puppies and kittens need pet food that works to their growth.Adult cats need food that maintains a healthy lifestyle while older cats may need foo that helps with balance or issues they may have over time. You can buy food almost anywhere now a days so make sure it the right quality.

How to deal with a fussy eater. Lets face it some animals will only eat certain things one might like one brand of food while ignoring all else while others only like wet and turn their nose at dry it really depends what I like to do is explore each brand buy a can or smaller can and see of they will eat it if they do buy larger amounts that way you are not spending a large amount pf cash on something they will turn their nose up at and walk away from.

There is never a sure bet with food some things work better then others but its not that difficult to figure out the best and work from there all animals after all do like to eat lol

Weather Blues

Animals like to be outdoors doesn't matter rain or shine wet or dry they want to run, chase, and explore its their natural instinct.. I have dealt with the weather blues and animals don't get me wrong I own cats and do not let them go out on their own next thing you know they are in tin buck too running off into the unknown, I hate that so now I watch like a hawk and hang out with them.
I have a mainly indoor one right now so its easier my advice is to include lots of toys, things to do, scratching posts and attention to get them going, happy and have energy and if all else fails catnip is fun!! lol

Fun things!

Toys, tricks and fun. Animals love to entertained just like people do. Give them something to do, even animals get bored. Toys are a creative outlet for them to have fun and give them something to do. All my animals have had toys or something to do to keep them entertained. They loved to chase or play with mice, or even a piece of string will work. I even had a cat that liked tin foil, or plastic, exploration and fun keep them entertained for weeks at a time and make them very happy and you happy because you are giving them something to do and its also very fun to watch them at play.

Summer!!

Summer is especially hard on pets many people tend to overlook this make sure your family pet has shade in the yard and access to water if they are going to be outdoors for longer periods the heat is deadly even at a shorter time period so always be aware of it. Pets love the sun and playing outdoors so go outside and spend some quality time with your pet you will not regret it!

Funny Pets

We used to have 3 cats that loved to chase eachother all over the house. Its like they had their own adventures and were up to no good  it would always start when we were gone from the house for some reason and they went totally wild. We had a very large fish tank (bad idea) I know lol but one cat did manage to get to the very top of it and climb over but then it dropped the lid into the tank and the light fizzled and shorted out and the whole tank with it and it also managed to scare the cat to death not to mention us running around trying to save the dying fish.lol  Back in the day we had an odd ball named Max who was very goofy and extremely clumsy and used to sometimes fall off the roof and so forth he was alright after he did that but he was really better off a house cat then an outdoors kitty and loved a good lap instead of being outside anyway so it worked for him.

We had 3 cats at the time and they all would play the game chase. One was even a homeless cat we called Midnight who we adopted and she was not into any of us at all  and would ignore us or even hiss  at us all but we still cared for her lol  our other cat was my sister's cat named Lucky he was very adventurous and funny  once my sister caught him on the front porch with something in his mouth she pride open his mouth and a hummingbird flew out(really) anyway they chased eachother back and forth through the house.

When we came into the room  they were running in then they all would freeze for a minute as if they were not really sure what to do kind of like all thinking to themselves "oh no we've been caught!" but then off they would go running around the house again. They would run from one room to another as fast as possible like little kids playing tag it was very funny to watch especially since they all acted very different with us it was just a cat thing to do I suppose.lol Finally after much running they would stop tire themselves out and finally go to sleep in the original room that they started this all, I always wondered who won the game in the end.lol

Feeding them Human food!

Yes, it seems like a great idea to feed pets leftovers but in all actuality it can be dangerous for the pets as it can cause them problems  them for instance many animals are actually allergic to certain foods humans eat I know its hard to imagine but its true. Some common foods that need to be avoided are foods such as:

 1. Chocolate which is highly dangerous to pets esecially dogs Chocolate contains theobromine, that is a chemical that’s very toxic and harmful to dogs.

2. Onions have a  toxin that causes haemolytic anaemia, in which the dog’s red blood cells burst while circulating through the body and causes severe damage in a very short amount of time so don't give it to them.

3. macadamia nuts are extremely dangerous to animals. It can cause swollen limbs a slight paralysis and mild tremors can occur.

4. Raw or cooked Beef, chicken and turkey have the same effect on cats as does human and salmonella is dangerous.

5. A cherry or even Avocados are also bad for cats.

In the end its always a good idea to research if you are going to feed an animal food that way they are safe from harm and you know what is good or bad for them to eat.
